Co-op America

I’m trying to learn more about living a eco-friendly lifestyle, and for me, the hardest part is the grocery store. I can’t find a local CSA (despite cheking out Local Harvest, which I recommend) and what about all those other products we need? Shoes, clothes, dishes?

Well, Co-op America is here for us, with great resources on both unethical companies, and those who are doing their best to protect the environment.

  1. It can be hard trying to be eco-friendly or even ethical when it comes to shopping. I mean things we take for granted like cotton material for example, I don’t know about you but when I thought about going organic and fair trade I didn’t think about Tshirts

Tara you are welcome to use the picture of the cuff I knit. I tried to email you but it it kept coming back as a bad email address. Ramona

  3. I can definitely understand your frustration in trying to shop ethically, and finding companies who provide earth friendly products. We recently started an online shop that provides such products out of our own frustrations in trying to find products we love, that are practical, and are earth friendly. But more and more companies are giving valid efforts in trying to provide the consumer with more options. Even Walmart has launched an “organic” line in produce. Even though its an effort, hang in there, before we know everyone will go GREEN.

  4. Hi, I’ve just discovered your blog and it seems we have some common loves and aims. I too am just launching a fiber business, though at the moment I’m just doing it out of my home, no retail space, and planning to be online soon. Your eco-friendly aims are very inspiring and I’d love to talk to you more about your experiences launching your business. Actually, I found the blog while looking for a source for undyed yarns, so if you have any recommendations in that department they’d be much appreciated. Where are you located?
